Everything you need to know about training with IMAJ — courses, payment, locations, accreditation, and what happens after you qualify.
01
General questions.
Who is IMAJ Aesthetics Academy?
IMAJ Aesthetics Academy is a UK premium small-group Beauty and Aesthetics training academy founded by Jami-Leigh, who brings over 20 years of industry experience and has previously owned and sold two other training academies. We offer ABT accredited and Ofqual regulated qualifications, Levels 2 to 7, across three locations: Banstead Surrey, Chelmsford Essex, and Newton Abbot Devon, with a maximum of 3 students per course.
Where are you located?
We have three UK locations. Banstead in Surrey is our flagship academy and the exclusive home of all Ofqual regulated qualifications. Chelmsford in Essex hosts our ABT accredited beauty courses, CPD aesthetics training, and room hire. Newton Abbot in Devon offers ABT brow and lash courses by appointment for students in the South West.
How many students do you have per course?
Maximum 3 students per ABT course. We never run packed classrooms — small groups mean genuine hands-on time, individual attention, and the confidence to leave fully qualified.
What support do I get after training?
Lifetime support. You can message Jami-Leigh directly anytime — she personally replies, often up to midnight. You'll also be invited to our private student support group for ongoing case-sharing and Q&A.
Do you offer a full refund if I can't attend?
Course fees are non-refundable. By booking, you agree to this policy. If you can't attend, please refer to our Rescheduling Policy for options to amend your course date(s).
What is your rescheduling policy?
Rescheduling Policy 14+ Working Days’ Notice If you need to reschedule your training date(s), a £50 rescheduling fee will apply. Less Than 14 Working Days’ Notice Rescheduling within this timeframe will incur a £100 rescheduling fee. Less Than 72 Hours’ Notice Rescheduling within 72 hours of your course date will result in the loss of all course fees. ⚠️ Please note: This policy also applies if you fail to provide models for your training course, resulting in the training being unable to proceed and requiring rescheduling. To request a reschedule, you must notify us in writing via email at academy@imajaesthetics.co.uk or via our Whatsapp Line 07795 396519.
02
Courses and training.
Do I need experience to train with you?
For most courses, no experience is needed, including Beauty Fastrack, HD Brows, Signature Lash Lift, and Level 2 in Facials, all designed for complete beginners. Some specialist courses have prerequisites: Korean Lash Lift requires Signature Lash Lift, and Brow Lamination requires HD Brows. Each course page lists prerequisites clearly.
Are your courses accredited and insurable?
Yes. Our ABT accredited courses are insurable through Policy Bee from the day you finish training, with no waiting period. Our regulated qualifications, Level 2 to 7, are nationally recognised through Pro-Qual, an Ofqual approved awarding body. You'll receive certification on the day, and we'll personally guide you through the insurance setup.
Are models provided for my training?
We ask students to bring their own models to the course. So you can work on real clients and gain confidence before taking your own bookings. Should you need help sourcing models we can support you for a small sourcing fee.
Do you provide kit or do I need to buy products?
We use the industry's most premium products throughout our training, therefore we do not include kits. We do however provide a full kit list with clickable links to make your purchases a smooth process.
03
Payment and finance.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. For courses under £600, split the cost over 3 months with Klarna, PayPal Pay in 3, or Clearpay. Higher-value courses qualify for genuine 0% finance, from 3 months up to 10 or 12 months depending on total cost. Our L3-L7 Regulated Pathway bundle (£12,195) qualifies for 0% finance over 3 years. Apply via our finance form; we review within 24 hours.
How do I apply for finance?
Fill out our finance application form and we'll review your application within 24 hours. We work with you to find a plan that suits your circumstances.
Is my deposit refundable?
Deposits secure your training date and aren't refundable, but if your circumstances change we'll work with you to reschedule to a date that suits you.
04
Regulated qualifications.
What's the difference between regulated and accredited?
Regulated qualifications are governed by Ofqual, the same body that regulates GCSEs and A-Levels, following structured frameworks and portfolio-based assessment with external quality assurance. Accredited training, like our ABT courses, provides insurable certification but sits outside Ofqual's framework. For long-term professional credibility, regulated qualifications offer the strongest foundation.
Who is Pro-Qual?
Pro-Qual is an Ofqual recognised awarding body. Our regulated qualifications (Level 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) are all awarded through Pro-Qual and recognised by employers and professional bodies across the UK.
Where are regulated courses taught?
All regulated qualifications are taught at our flagship Banstead Surrey location. Regulated training requires a structured clinical salon environment which Banstead is specifically set up for.
05
Bookings & dates.
How do I book a course?
You can book directly online, message us on WhatsApp, or send an enquiry through our contact form. We respond within 4 hours, often much faster.
How far in advance should I book?
Bookings typically fill 2-4 weeks ahead, especially for weekend dates. The earlier you book, the better the date selection.
Can I change my training date?
Yes — we understand circumstances change. Get in touch as soon as possible and we'll work with you to find an alternative date that suits - please also see our rescheduling policy.
06
After Your course.
When can I start taking clients?
The week you finish training. You'll have your certification in hand, your Policy Bee insurance fully set up, and the confidence and hands-on skills to deliver treatments professionally. Many students book their first paying client within days of finishing, putting what they've learned into practice almost immediately.
How do I get my first clients?
We teach you exactly this — how to photograph your work, how to price for value, what to post on social media, and the rebook strategy that turns one-off clients into loyal regulars. Beauty Fastrack also includes our "First 10 Clients" e-book worth £199.
What about insurance?
We're affiliated with Policy Bee, who specialise in beauty and aesthetics therapist insurance and offer fast-tracked approval for IMAJ students. We personally guide you through the entire setup process during your training, so by the time you finish, you're fully insured and ready to take your first paying client.
